Production Diary: Lesson Five in the Production of My Music Magazine Contents Page...

This lesson, I aimed to complete my contents page completely by adding the finishing touches and this is my complete contents page. I started by aligning all the text on the page such as the text in the Features so it is going in one straight flow. Whilst doing this, I added another section called 'News' and I did the same by aligning all the text so it is going in one straight flow. I also worked on the VIP section because before it looked all over the place so now it is aligned and in one straight flow. I changed the image at the bottom as it was difficult to put a caption to the image but I added another image and managed to solve this problem. I also added a  subscription section because before the space was vast and looked pretty empty.  I also added a page number.

Production Diary: Lesson Four in the Production of My Music Magazine Contents Page...

This lesson, I spent time adding the last touches to the contents page. I started adding the final captions on all the images and I started to add the sell-lines. I realigned the sell-lines so they are accurately going straight down and instead of using the same colour on the sell lines which is goldish brown, I complimented the magazine front cover masthead 'Defused' and I used a red colour scheme on it. I added an image to my cover of DJ decks which relates to the sell-line of the History of Dubstep with a caption and I also changed the colour scheme of this from black to white to the red colour scheme in the magazine front cover masthead. I also organised my contents page by sections such as VIP and Features. I used the Mix Mag contents page for inspiration yet I still decided to differ my contents page from Mix Mag. I also took the 'Issue #50' out as I felt this doesn't seem to shown any significance so I moved the Defused masthead from the bottom and placed it in the place of the issue number. I also re-aligned the top sell line about my model. I changed the colour scheme of the dateline to black. I also changed the size of the font on the sell-lines and made it smaller. I also changed the size of the font on the captions in the images and made it bigger. I aligned the text on the features so everything is in line and this expanded the space at the bottom so I moved the caption for the bottom image to the right.

Production Diary: Lesson Three in the Production of My Music Magazine Contents Page...

This lesson, I added a caption under the main image page number and I also added a main sell-line about the main image and I also done a section called 'VIP EXCLUSIVE' as the main image denotes who is the main person within my music magazine.

Production Diary: Lesson Two in the Production of My Music Magazine Contents Page...

This lesson, I started by making some improvements in my magazine, I changed the main image as I felt this image doesn't appeal so I used an image which has an enticing attitude. I also added another image which will relate to a competition between DJ's and I done a sell line about who will be the underground king of dubstep 2012. I also used the same font on the main image for the page number '42' which compliments the masthead as well as I have seen this in the Mixmag magazine contents page. I also added some thin borders around both images to make the image stand out and I added borders on top near the issue no., dateline and masthead. I took out the shape behind the dateline as I felt this  I need to add some sell lines which I will work on in the next lesson.

Production Diary: Lesson One In The Production of My Music Magazine Contents Page...

This is how my contents page looks. I started by adding a gradient background similar to the front cover so it can relate to this. I started by adding the issue number of my magazine and the dateline of the magazine as I have noticed many existing music magazines have done this so I used this from inspiration but they also vary between this. I also added a masthead which was difficult to choose from as I wanted more of a 'street' look so I thought this masthead matched my desires. I also added a image of my model who is also in the front cover. The reason for the enlarged image is because my music magazine revolves around the person in the front cover so the model must stand out above the other images. I also added a sub-heading and a sell-line but I am having difficulty with the layout and structuring of the contents page. I will overcome this difficulty and start making improvements to this and this still needs completion but I will work on this in the next lesson.
