Analysis of 4 Music Magazines - 1. RWD Magazine

http://www.rwdmag.com/2011/10/issue-117-november-2011-read-online-now-w-professorgreen/

Good Points:
The RWD Magazine looks very professional and the images looks very high-definition. I'm impressed by the way they have varied the colour schemes with special contour effects as they blend in with the genre of the magazine. The colours they have used are fluorescent and universal colours which make the magazine more appealing which attracted my attention to this magazine when I searched this. On the front cover, the colours match what Professor Green is wearing and in the magazine there is another article about him where the border colour scheme is blue and he is wearing a top that has blue in the middle. This magazine also uses a range of images effectively which connote what the articles are about. The images are very clear and its obvious that a special software called Adobe Photoshop. The images that are used in the magazine are really effective as different camera angles and shots are used throughout each page in the magazine.Professor Green is looking directly at the camera which is direct mode of address which may be used to entice the audience to purchase the magazine.

Bad Points:
As I mentioned in the good points that the use of a range of images is good but in some way its also a bad thing. This is because it expands the magazine to a limit above the typical range for a magazine. On the front cover, there is no tagline, dateline; the typical conventions for a magazine but the main ingredient that's missing is cover-lines. As you can see the only cover-line is "Party all night with Pro Green". This obviously will not attract people to purchase this magazine because when people look at magazines, they look at the cover-lines as the front cover is the only thing they see when magazines are on display in shops and if there is no attention to detail then this magazine will not make much sales.
